The dispute between Chuu, a former LOONA member, and his former agency Blockberry Creative seems to be still going strong. After being unilaterally kicked out of the LOONA group on charges of abuse of power, now Blockberry Creative has sent another legal petition to boycott Chuu's career in the entertainment world.
Quoting from Koreaboo on Wednesday February 1, 2023, recently, media outlet Star News reported that Blockberry Creative petitioned the Korea Entertainment Management Association and the Korea Entertainment Producers Association to ban Chuu from entertainment activities.
In particular, Blockberry raised the issue of Chuu's breach of contract through filing a complaint through the Compensation and Punishment Committee of the Federation of Korean Trade Associations. Blockberry assessed that Chuu had planned to sign a new contract with BY4M sometime in 2021, and filed a complaint with the Compensation and Punishment Committee of the Federation of Employers' Associations.
They claimed that Chuu's actions were a breach of the management contract. After that, Blockberry Creative asked Chuu to attend the trial. However, Chuu only gave a response last week. Chuu's delay in responding to appear at the trial caused the trial date to be postponed to a later date.
Officials from the Korea Entertainment Management Association confirmed the report to media outlet YTN. They said, "It is true that the petition against Chuu has been filed and the sentencing process is proceeding according to procedure." However, regarding the notice of Chuu's presence on the sentencing committee, they added, "It is difficult to confirm the details because this matter is still in progress.
" Simultaneously, Star News also reported that Blockberry Creative plans to file a petition with the Federation of Entrepreneurs' Association on the same day to ban entertainment activities for Heejin, Kim Lip, Jinsol, and Choerry. Previously, Chuu won a partial injunction to suspend his exclusive contract with Blockberry Creative in March 2022.
Since then, Heejin, Kim Lip, JinSoul, and Choerry have also won a judgment to suspend the validity of their exclusive contract. Meanwhile Blockberry Creative has also confirmed that it is true that they have sent a petition to boycott Chuu's activities and will send the same petition to the other four LOONA members.
