Yoo Ah In was investigated by the police for a drug case. Previously, the actor tested positive for marijuana and propofol after undergoing a urine test. The police started investigating Yoo Ah In for illegal use of propofol since February 2023. Apart from questioning the actor, they also carried out searches and seizures of various doctors' offices and clinics in Seoul who were suspected of illegally giving the drug to Yoo Ah In since 2021.
As part of the investigation, Yoo Ah In underwent urine and hair tests on February 5, 2023. His urine sample tested positive for marijuana, which is known to be illegal for use in South Korea. Shortly after, the South Korean forensic team sent the results of Yoo Ah In's hair test to the Seoul police drug investigation unit.
The result stated that the actor was positive for propofol. Quoted from News9, the police apparently found other drug contents through the hair test. Yoo Ah In also tested positive for cocaine and ketamine. The police are currently said to be checking ketamine prescription records to find out whether the actor frequently uses the drug.
They plan to call Yoo Ah In back for questioning as a suspect next week. Meanwhile, Yoo Ah In is known to be busy with a number of acting projects before undergoing police examination. He undertook a number of projects with Netflix including The Match, which is a film that also starred Lee Byung Hun, as well as the Korean drama Goodbye Earth. The plan is for the two projects to be broadcast in 2023.
Meanwhile, the actor was previously confirmed to be returning through the Korean drama Hellbound. Regarding Yoo Ah In 's drug case , Netflix finally opened its voice. Quoted from Xsports News, the streaming service is currently discussing with a number of parties the fate of projects starring the actor. "We are currently in discussions with representatives of the projects about this situation," he stressed.
