The real reason for EXO-CBX's decision to terminate the contract with SM Entertainment was revealed. This was revealed by Lee Jae Hak, the attorney who is now the representative of the three EXO members. Lee Jae Hak explained in his statement that EXO's Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin had hoped that SM Entertainment's management would open up regarding payment data.

They have submitted a request for management to show these data with the aim that they can be consulted and submit an appeal or request for a change if it is felt to be burdensome for the artist. However, according to EXO-CBX's attorney, SM Entertainment allows them to 'view' the data without 'possessing' a copy.

The lawyer assessed that there was a fear on the part of management that the data would be shared with third parties. This was considered by Lee Jae Hak to be very confusing. "Even though the artist is given the payment data and consulted with the legal team, accountants, or anyone around them, this is an attempt by the artist to fight for their rights.

Even in the exclusive contract (with SM Entertainment), there is no rule that says that the artist cannot show the payment report to another person or the obligation to only see the payment report itself. Precisely in the contract it is written that the artist concerned can review the data provided by SM within 30 days, can also make appeals or changes if needed, "explained Lee Jae Hak.

"SM Entertainment didn't even provide payment data. Legal representatives and other artists have appealed to them to be fair in this situation. In the end, it cannot be denied that this raises questions about who should be criticized and who is at fault in this situation," continued the EXO lawyer -CBX.

Lee Jae Hak also emphasized that what he said was the truth exposed by Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin. That all this time they have asked for transparency to management but it was rejected. This then led to the decision of the three EXO members to terminate their contract with SM Entertainment.
