Having just made her debut as a soloist in August, TWICE's Jihyo revealed the story of the difficult times when she debuted with TWICE. In the talk show on Youtube Leemujin Service on Tuesday August 22, 2023, the leader of TWICE admitted that he had a difficult time starting his career with TWICE.

According to him, one of the difficulties he experienced came when Jihyo started to find a singing style that was suitable for K-pop music. Jihyo revealed that these obstacles came because during his 10-year trainee period, Jihyo practiced more Pop genre music than K-pop.

"I experienced a lot of difficulties when I first started my career at TWICE," said Jihyo, reported by NME on Wednesday August 23, 2023. "When I was a trainee for 10 years, all we practiced were pop songs, and there were only two or three songs in Korean," he continued.

"So for me, the types of songs like pop are very familiar, while the songs that I have to sing are songs like Cheer Up or TT," he said. As a result of this, Jihyo also admitted that she often received reprimands for not being able to sing according to the coach's directions.

She also felt this obstacle during the recording process, where Jihyo felt uncomfortable with her vocal style. "So while hearing these words during the recording process, the vocal style required as an idol and the vocal style I wanted often clashed," said Jihyo.

Even though this experience happened a long time ago, Jihyo still felt similar nervousness when recording in preparation for her solo album entitled  ZONE. However, the musician responded to this obstacle by saying that his solo mini album was a great opportunity for him to use his own vocal style. "I really want to achieve, and I'm sure I can do it.

That's why I feel nervous," said Jihyo. Released on August 18, the mini album  ZONE  was also accompanied by the main song titled "Killin' Me Good". Jihyo became the second member of TWICE to successfully release a solo project after previously being started by Nayeon who released a solo Extended Plays (EP) entitled  Im Nayeon  on June 24 2022.

Previously, the owner of the real name Park Ji-hyo had several times been given the opportunity to fill in the soundtracks for well-known Korean dramas. Among them are "Stardust Love Song"  for the drama  Twenty Five, Twenty One (2022),  "I Fly" in the drama  Today's Webtoon (2022), and "A Strange Day" for the drama  Summer Striker (2022).
