The newest MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) film The Marvels will be released next month. Ahead of the broadcast, a series of posters for the main characters in the film were released by Marvel Studios, including South Korean actor Park Seo Joon. Previously in the trailer, fans could see a little of Park Seo Joon's appearance in several scenes.
Now his detailed portrait as Prince Yan has been released as a character poster. Park Seo Joon looks much different from his appearance when he played in Korean dramas. Here he wears a long wig down to his back, with his hair styled like the Super Saiyan character in the Dragon Balls comic.
Park Seo Joon wore a maroon costume which appeared to be royal attire. On the chest there is a dark brown ornament that resembles a rib. So far, the character of Prince Yan, played by Park Seo Joon, has always been kept a secret. Until finally the trailer was released and then followed by this character poster, fans were increasingly impatient to see the Itaewon Class actor in action in his Hollywood debut.
Prince Yan is a prince from Planet Aladna. This planet is known to have a unique tradition, namely its citizens who speak melodiously or sing. The presence of Planet Aladna in The Marvels has given rise to the theory that this film will feature scenes like a musical. Just like Yan, Planet Aladna is still relatively new to the MCU.
Almost all the residents have an eccentric appearance as if they are going to hold an art performance. In the trailer, Park Seo Joon appears with long hair and armor while holding a sword. Yan's character is also known for not having the opportunity to choose his own partner. This can happen because the rule in Aladna is that women are more dominant in matters of love and marriage.
Apart from that, only women, not men, have the right to choose a partner, where later the Aladna women will choose the man they like and dare to propose to them in any way. The Marvels is Park Seo Joon's debut in the MCU and becomes the third South Korean actor to join the Marvel universe after Ma Dong Seok (Eternals) and Claudia Kim (Avengers: Age of Ultron).
