Boy group KINGDOM officially announced the change in their group name ahead of their new album comeback at the end of April. Quoting from Allkpop on Thursday April 4, 2024, the agency that oversees KINGDOM, GF Entertainment, said through their official statement that KINGDOM will change their group name to The KingDom.

“We sincerely thank the fans for their support of our artist, KINGDOM. "And we want to inform all of you about the group name change," said GF Entertainment in their official statement.  They added, "The official name of the group KINGDOM has changed to The KingDom."

The agency also said that following the comeback of their latest album on April 30, 2024, KINGDOM will start promoting using their new name The KingDom. "Starting from the latest comeback album on April 30, 2024, the group will use the name The KingDom to promote," he continued. 

The agency also asked for fans' support for all members of The KingDom, fronted by Dann, Arthur, Mujin, Louis, Ivan, Hwon, and Jahan, who are currently preparing their latest album. The agency also promised to continue to provide support for The KingDom's activities in the future. 

“We ask for infinite love and attention for The KingDom who will return soon with their new side. Thank you," concluded GF Entertainment. Meanwhile, the boy group KINGDOM (now The KingDom) debuted with 7 members on February 18, 2021. By releasing the first mini album entitled 'History of Kingdom: Part 1. Arthur'. 

However, one of the members, namely Chiwoo, left the group in 2022, and in August of the same year a new member, Hwon, joined the group. Responding to KINGDOM's new name change to The KingDom, a number of fans gave mixed reactions. 

There are those who support their group having a new image with a name change. However, not a few people regret this change. Some netizens actually mentioned that there were issues that were contrary to culture in their album concepts, so they tried to change their image and concept in the future.
