Kim Sae Ron was recently reported to have canceled starring in the drama ' Dongchimi ' which was predicted to be her comeback project. Speculation also circulated among netizens that Kim Sae Ron withdrew from the project due to the negative response from the public due to the DUI (Drunk Under Influence) controversy she had experienced.

In response to this, the production team for the drama 'Dongchimi' finally spoke up and revealed the specific reasons Kim Sae Ron withdrew from the drama. Launching from Allkpop on Friday April 19, 2024, a representative of the 'Dongchimi' production team explained further that the reason Kim Sae Ron decided to resign was not because of negative opinions towards the actress.

"The production team decided not to continue producing the drama with Kim Sae Ron because of her physical condition. She has weak stamina so we have discussed whether she will continue with us or not," said the production team. He continued, "We took the final decision (April 17, 2024). We hope there will be no more speculative articles on this matter."

According to the production team, Kim Sae Ron did her best to prepare for her role in the drama 'Dongchimi', even going on a retreat with the production team and cast. "Actress Kim Sae Ron really tried hard. It's a shame she couldn't continue with us because of her health," he added.

Following news of Kim Sae Ron's departure from the drama 'Dongchimi', there was speculation that she was stepping down due to negative public opinion regarding the actress' return to acting. Previously it was known that Kim Sae Ron was arrested by the police for drunk driving in May 2022, near the Hakdong Interchange in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

He crashed his car several times into guardrails and trees, violating the Road Traffic Act. A blood test showed his blood alcohol content was 0.2%, which is a level that would require license revocation. In April last year, the Seoul Central District Court's Criminal Division 4 fined Kim Sae Ron 20 million won (around IDR 235 million). Neither Kim Sae Ron nor prosecutors appealed the decision, confirming the initial verdict.
