Jeremy Renner recently revealed the reason behind him no longer playing the role of William Brandt in the Mission: Impossible franchise. The actor, born in 1971, joined Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol in 2011, and appeared briefly in the film Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation in 2015.
However, since then William Brandt's character has not appeared again in this series. In a recent interview with Collider , Jeremy Renner said that the shooting schedule for Mission: Impossible was very busy and this made it difficult for him to carry out his role as a father.
" Yes, I had to leave him. I should have spent more time with them. I really love them. I also really love Tom Cruise. We had a lot of fun, and I really love that character ," said Jeremy Renner, quoted on Tuesday May 28, 2024.
" However, this job required a lot of time in London far from home. At the time, being a father made that impossible. Maybe now, when my daughter is older, I can come back. I'm always ready to return to Mission: Impossible at any time and playing Brandt again would be amazing ," he continued.
Jeremy Renner was mentioned as the person who would replace Tom Cruise in the Mission: Impossible film series . However, in the end this plan was not realized after the film Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation was released. In this film, William Brandt's character is less highlighted and does not appear in many action scenes.
After the IMF (Impossible Mission Force) was disbanded, William began working for the CIA. However, he is still royal on Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and Alan Hunley (Alec Baldwin). Jeremy Renner previously had an incident in January 2023 in Reno, Nevada.
The incident occurred when Jeremy saved his nephew from a 14,000-pound Sno-Cat snowplow tractor that was careening out of control towards him. As a result, more than 30 of Jeremy's bones were broken and there were other serious injuries.
However, his condition has now achieved significant progress after undergoing various operations and intensive therapy. He has even returned to acting, continuing his role as Mike McLusky in the series Mayor of Kingstown season 3.
