South Korean girl group (G)I-DLE has just donated a total of 50 million won to help flood victims. The 50 million won was collected by Soyeon and friends, with each member donating around 10 million won.

As reported by Allkpop on Monday July 29, 2024, the donation submitted through the South Korean Red Cross was made because the (G)I-DLE members realized the importance of the Red Cross symbol and its activities, as stipulated in the Geneva Convention.

With this determination, (G)I-DLE decided to contribute to humanity by sending donations to help restore the condition of the flood victims due to heavy rain, which has broken records in the last 200 years. (G)I-DLE members hope that with the little help they provide, the Red Cross can continue to carry out life-saving activities.

At the same time, to comfort the flood victims, and help them rise from their slump, and be able to return to their normal activities soon. "We hope that the Red Cross's activities in saving human lives can be a comfort to flood victims, and help them to resume their daily activities as quickly as possible," said (G)I-DLE.

South Korean Red Cross President Kim Chul Soo said, "I believe that (G)I-DLE will provide warm entertainment and great strength support to the residents affected by the flood." "As a legally mandated disaster management and relief organization, the Korean Red Cross will do its best in post-flood recovery efforts," she added.

Meanwhile, the Korean Red Cross has been carrying out emergency relief and recovery activities for 22 days, involving more than 2,600 staff and volunteers in various areas affected by flooding due to heavy rain since July 8, 2024.

Founded in 1905, the Korean Red Cross Society is the first organization to arrive at disaster sites domestically and internationally, providing relief and recovery efforts, and continuing its 119-year tradition of humanitarian work to save lives wherever human suffering occurs. Hopefully what (G)I-DLE has done can be an example and motivation for fans to continue to care for each other.
