The animated series The Dragon Prince will soon return to Netflix with new episodes, and they have released a trailer for its sixth season. Since season 4, The Dragon Prince has continued to present the Aaravos Mystery story which is increasingly intense compared to previous seasons.
From the season 6 trailer that has been circulating, it seems that this tension will continue in the upcoming episodes, bringing the animated series closer to the end of its story. The trailer begins with a narrative that talks about existence and infinity. Callum is seen wearing an eye patch using his magical powers to fly but then falls.
Then it moves on to the explosion scene and various scenes from other characters. Karim is seen wearing an outfit inspired by Sol Regem. Callum and Rayla meet another witch who also wears a similar eye patch. Rayla fights Aaravos, and there's a brief moment where Callum feels the effects of using dark magic.
The trailer also introduces new elements in the form of an ice dragon and some scenes in the middle of a snowstorm. The Dragon Prince season 6 will start airing on Netflix on July 26, 2024, but it has not been revealed how many episodes will be present in this season.
The Dragon Prince itself follows the story of two brothers, Ezran and Callum, along with an Elf named Rayla. The three of them work together to return the dragon egg to its mother. After this arc concluded in season three, Netflix shifted to another story direction and added a new subtitle, The Mystery of Aaravos.
In the current arc of The Dragon Prince , Callum, Ezran, Rayla, and their friends team up with the Dragon Queen, Zubeia, and her son, Zym, to find Aaravos' prison. On the other hand, Claudia, along with a temporarily revived Viren, and her boyfriend, Terry, an Earthblood Elf, are also searching for the prison. They hope that Aaravos can make Viren's resurrection permanent.
Justin Richmond, one of the creators of The Dragon Prince series, talked about the darker tone changes in season 5 to ComicBook. He said that from the beginning, they had planned that these seasons would heat up by exploring darker places. However, they didn't mean to make the story too dark. They focused more on bringing each character to a different emotional realm.
