The 2024 Video Music Awards are just around the corner. The event will be held on Wednesday November 9, 2024 local time. A number of top musicians such as Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift , Sabrina Carpenter, Eminem, Post Malone, Billie Eilish, and Olivia Rodrigo are enlivening the nominations for this year's event.
Through an Instagram post, the VMA revealed that Taylor Swift is the musician with the most nominations at the 2024 VMAs with a total of 10 nominations. Her collaborator on the song "Fortnight", Post Malone, is in second place with a total of 9 nominations. Followed by Ariana Grande, Eminem, and Sabrina Carpenter with 6 nominations each.
The 34-year-old singer-songwriter dominated the 2024 Video Music Awards after releasing her 11th album titled “ The Tortured Poets Department ”. The album’s 14 tracks dominated the Billboard Hot 100 chart at ranks 1-14. This black and white themed album is very special for fans because 2 hours after its release, Taylor Swift gave a surprise anthology version of the album. She released a total of 31 songs from the double album.

Quoting from Variety on Saturday August 10, 2024, Taylor Swift had previously won the Video of the Year nomination in two consecutive years and won four overall. If she wins again this year for the music video "Fortnight", she will be the first musician to win three times in a row and the first to win five times in the category in VMA history.
Taylor Swift was nominated for Video of the Year last year for her music video for “Anti-Hero,” in 2022 for “All Too Well: The Short Film,” in 2019 for “You Need To Calm Down,” and in 2015 for “Bad Blood.”
