Six-time Academy Award -nominated actress Amy Adams continues to be productive with new projects. Searchlight Pictures recently released the first trailer and poster for the horror comedy Nightbitch, which stars Adams alongside Scott McNairy and Zoë Chao.
In this film, Amy Adams plays a woman who chooses to stop her career to become a housewife. However, the excessive pressure of life makes her feel as if she is turning into a dog. This film offers a unique premise and shows another side of Amy Adams who is increasingly showing her abilities in various challenging roles.
In addition to Amy Adams, Scoot McNairy, and Zoë Chao, Nightbitch will also star Jessica Harper, Mary Holland, Kerry O'Malley, and Ella Thomas. The film is scheduled to hit theaters in December. Nightbitch is adapted from the novel by Rachel Yoder and directed by Marielle Heller, who wrote the screenplay and directed the film.
Marielle Heller made her directorial debut in 2015 with The Diary of a Teenage Girl , a teen comedy starring Alexander Skarsgård, Kristen Wiig, and Christopher Meloni. Marielle Heller also directed the crime drama Can You Ever Forgive Me? starring Melissa McCarthy and Richard E. Grant.
Nightbitch will be Heller’s fifth film, and she continues her track record of collaborating with A-list stars. Amy Adams, who is considered one of the most talented actresses of her generation and of all time, once again shows her extraordinary acting skills which often receive praise from critics and audiences.
Amy Adams earned her first Oscar nomination in 2005 for her role in the comedy Junebug, which also starred Embeth Davidtz and Alessandro Nivola. The woman born in August 1974 then received two more nominations for her roles in Doubt and The Fighter. She also received a nomination for her role in The Master. Her latest nominations came from the films American Hustle and Vice.
