The NCT boy group member shared the latest upload showing his short hair and wrote a farewell message for fans who are familiarly called NCTzen. Jaehyun shared the upload via his personal social media.
Several photos also show the musician posing with short hair to selfies when his hair was cut. "Remembering our past memories together, while looking forward to our future journey," he wrote in the caption of the upload on the Instagram account @_jeongjaehyun on Sunday November 3, 2024.
The photo was then flooded with comments and reactions from fans who admired Jaehyun's new look ahead of his military service. However, many fans also expressed their sadness at having to let the idol go on temporary duty. There are also fans who wrote prayers and support for Jaehyun who will soon fulfill his obligations as a Korean citizen.
The idol and actor is scheduled to enter the military on Monday November 4, 2024. The musician, whose full name is Jung Jae-hyun, will begin his military service after receiving an acceptance letter from the Military Manpower Administration on September 26, 2024.
Jaehyun had to do basic training for five weeks before undergoing his military service as a member of the military band. He is recorded as starting his military service at the age of 27. Jaehyun is also the second NCT member to enlist, following Taeyong who first enlisted in April 2024. The leader of NCT 127 entered the military as an active soldier in the Navy.
He also became the first NCT member to undergo military service. The musician whose full name is Lee Tae-yong entered the military on April 15 at the age of 28. SM Entertainment as the agency also uploaded the latest photo of Taeyong when he had completed basic military training.
Military service is mandatory for every able-bodied South Korean male aged 18-28, as the country has yet to achieve peace with North Korea following the Korean War of 1950-1953. The length of military service also varies depending on the unit where you serve, but most last between 18-21 months.
