The second season synopsis of Squid Game returns to tell the story of Seong Gi Hun (Lee Jung Jae), the winner of the first season of Squid Game. Gi Hun is said to have canceled his trip to the United States to meet his daughter. 

Gi Hun chooses to pursue his mission to uncover the mastermind behind the game that changed his life. Squid Game fans can look forward to Gi Hun visiting The Front Man (played by Lee Byung Hun), the mastermind of the survival game whose face was revealed at the end of the first season. 

He is also seen shooting his younger brother Hwang Jung-ho (played by Wi Ha Joon) and searching for his whereabouts after he suddenly disappeared. In the first episode of Squid Game 2, Hwang Jun-ho wakes up in the hospital after surviving a fall from a cliff. He remembers his brother and what he did.

In Squid Game 2, Park Sung Hoon plays a character named Hyun Ju, a transgender woman who is ambitious to join the survival game. She wants to win a prize of 45.6 billion won as capital to undergo a sex change operation, from male to female.

Im Siwan's Character in Squid Game 2

Im Siwan's character in Squid Game 2 was officially introduced by Netflix on December 23, 2024. The actor, who was born on December 1, 1988, will play a character named Myung Ki. In the Squid Game 2 teaser, there is a snippet of Myung Ki's dialogue, played by Im Siwan. 

He sounds like someone who is obsessed with cryptocurrency trading. "Why did you take my phone and wallet? Please give them back. I need to check the crypto market. If I lose, will you compensate me?" is Im Siwan's dialogue in Squid Game 2.
