Hyein returned to South Korea on December 3, 2024 after completing her NewJeans work schedule in Japan. The return of the idol born in 2008 was awaited by fans who immediately took pictures and recorded her face. However, when she appeared at the airport, Hyein showed a bright expression when greeting fans and journalists.

Although her face looked tired, the singer of "How Sweet" continued to smile until it became a topic of conversation among South Korean netizens. " At times like this, she really looks like a baby. So cute [sic!]," one netizen wrote. " She may be a baby, but she's so pretty—her visuals are crazy [sic!]," another added.

" She's literally a baby [sic!]," another netizen chimed in. " She's so cute—she looks like a Gryffindor today [sic!]," added another. " Cute and round. She's so pretty, baby [sic!]," continued another. " So cute lol. Thank goodness she looks so cheerful [sic!]," concluded another.

On the other hand, NewJeans officially terminated their contract with ADOR & HYBE on December 29, 2024. The members held a press conference and said, "The reason we left ADOR is very simple, and we think the reporters here who know our situation are also very aware of this."

"NewJeans is ADOR's artist, and ADOR has an obligation to protect NewJeans. That is the most basic obligation an agency has. ADOR has no desire or ability to protect NewJeans. If we stay here, it will be a waste of our time, and our mental stress will continue," they asserted.

After NewJeans' decision to leave, Dispatch released an article stating that Min Hee Jin intervened in Hanni et al's action to terminate the contract. Even before HYBE's official response to the reinstatement request, NewJeans' press conference had already been planned by Hee Jin's side, with answers prepared in advance.

Dispatch further alleged that Hee Jin met with representatives of other companies during his tenure as an ADOR executive. Hee Jin was accused of engaging in interference by approaching external investors with plans to take NewJeans with him. These allegations were immediately denied by Hee Jin's side.

They filed a defamation complaint against the two Dispatch reporters with the Yongsan Police Department. Hee Jin's side stated, "The two have continuously defamed Min Hee Jin by publishing lies under the guise of news. Today's article is no different, as it presents one-sided claims mixed with their own speculation, completely separate from the truth."
