BLACKPINK's Rose is currently busy with the promotion period for her solo album titled "rosie" which will be released soon. On December 5, 2024, the BLACKPINK member underwent an interview session with the Apple Music YouTube channel hosted by Zane Lowe.
On that occasion, Rose spoke candidly about her relationship with her ex-boyfriend, despite the culture of silence that often surrounds K-pop idols and dating. The idol revealed a moment when she had a fight with her ex-boyfriend during a concert tour.
"I would literally look at it and be like, 'Oh my God, that was the worst time of my life. I remember that tour. I had a huge fight... with my ex. I remember that moment. I looked so good for how broken I was," she said. Rose also discussed her song titled "toxic till the end".
In the song, the idol reveals that her ex was less than enthusiastic about her friends. She blames herself for not recognizing the signs at first. The song "Toxic Till The End" has the lyrics, "Let's call it us. Toxic from the start. Can't pretend that I didn't know anything. When you met my friends.
You didn't even try with them. I should have known then." The lyrics of the song also seem to describe how bad Rose's past lover was. "That you were jealous and possessive. Very manipulative. Honestly, impressive. You made me participate," read the lyrics of the song "toxic till the end".
On the other hand, Rose also previously revealed how she feels about the restrictive dating culture as an idol. "Yeah, it's not normal. It's not normal. But, it's also not normal for me. I've never really talked about it either, because I don't feel like I need to confirm anything or talk about it," the idol revealed.
However, Rose used her dating experiences as a significant inspiration for her new album. "I wanted to make sure that it was really well-rounded. The fact that this album isn't about who Rosie's been with or anything," she said.
Meanwhile, Rose has released two singles from Rosie, including "APT." ft. Bruno Mars and "Number One Girl." The album is scheduled to be released on December 6, 2024 via Atlantic Records. Before the idol's album was released, Rose made various achievements with "APT.".
