In the Korean drama Study Group, Hwang Min Hyun plays Yoon Ga Min, a student who, despite being very diligent and disciplined in studying , always ranks last. Having tried everything but to no avail, he gets the idea to form a study group, and despite the difficult journey of recruiting members and facing bullies, he manages to form a group with other students, giving each other a chance to enter university.

As an idol actor, Hwang Min Hyun did not make the audience expect too much from his acting. However, he proved his ability when the film aired. Yoon Ga Min's action scenes have a unique fighting style. If Yeon Si Eun from Weak Hero Class 1 uses her knowledge of physics and mathematics to think and attack accurately, Yoon Ga Min shows a more defensive but very decisive martial arts style.

The most memorable scene is the one where a bully pretends to join the study group to cause trouble with Ga Min. But he didn't know it and still calmly guided the man and inadvertently skillfully avoided the attack while remembering the sequence of interactions with the surrounding objects and saying the sentence.

Even more impressive is the fact that he acted out his own stunts, jumping from the third floor or fighting with an obstacle consisting of a burning briefcase, with real fire still burning. Hwang Min Hyun also has very convincing eye acting, showing two very different sides as a silly but active nerd with his friends and someone with martial arts who is unpredictable but very good even when facing bullies.

He was even more surprised when he was able to play a naive role “beautifully” even though he has a rather mature and well-groomed image in real life. Although the psychological scenes are not too difficult, Min Hyun acts naturally and precisely. He clearly distinguishes between confusion, anger, and happiness, expressed very slightly through tears in the corners of his eyes, but fully felt by the audience.
