T.O.P or actor Choi Seung Hyun denied that he would return to the group BIGBANG. This news was widely discussed after his name was still included in the BIGBANG YouTube account. T.O.P is Choi Seung Hyun's stage name when he was a rapper at BIGBANG.
Although he has left, he still uses the name T.O.P including his Instagram profile. The Squid Game 2 star wrote, “TOP Choi Seung Hyun” in his bio which led fans to speculate that he would be reuniting with BIGBANG.
On Tuesday, February 11, 2025, T.O.P's representative denied the news and explained why he still uses the name. “T.O.P's name has been consistently added to Choi Seung Hyun's profile since the beginning,” TOP said.
“As he mentioned in the Squid Game 2 interview, he felt sorry towards the members and there was no discussion regarding BIGBANG,” they explained. YG Entertainment, BIGBANG's agency, explained why T.O.P's name was still visible on BIGBANG's YouTube account .
“The YouTube profile in question has not been changed since the release of the single Stilf Life,” YG Entertainment said on the same day. “When the song was released, YG listed G-Dragon, Taeyang, T.O.P and Daesang as contributors to the song,” YG said. Previously, T.O.P did an interview related to Squid Game 2.
In that opportunity, he admitted that he would not return as a member of BIGBANG. "I imagine the situation when we gave our blessings, I honestly felt guilty. I left because I felt like I didn't deserve to stay (in BIGBANG). All I felt was that I felt guilty," said T.O.P.
