Kim Soo-hyun's agency, Gold Medalist, has finally spoken out to confirm that the actor once dated the late Kim Sae-ron. The status was confirmed by the agency through a statement uploaded on Friday March 14, 2025. However, according to the agency, the relationship occurred when Kim Sae-ron was of legal age.
This is far different from the family's claim that Kim Sae-ron was still 15 years old when she dated Kim Soo-hyun. "Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron dated between the summer of 2019 and the fall of 2020, after she entered adulthood," Gold Medalist said. "It is not true that Kim Soo-hyun dated her when she was a minor."
Gold Medalist also commented on the intimate photos of Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron that are circulating. The agency said that the photos uploaded by Kim Sae-ron on Instagram last year and the photos from the Garosero Research Institute were taken in the winter of 2020.
According to the agency, Kim Sae-ron wore clothes from a brand released in 2019 in one of her photos. Therefore, the agency believes that it is impossible for the moment to be taken in 2016 or when Kim Sae-ron was a teenager. Gold Medalist also replied to other photos from Garosero's upload on Wednesday March 12, 2025.
Some of the photos were taken in December 2019 if you refer to the metadata. "All the photos uploaded by Garosero Institute with the claim that Kim Soo-hyun dated Kim Sae-ron when she was a minor were taken after she became an adult," the agency said, as reported by Sports Chosun, on Friday March 13, 2025.
Garosero Research Institute previously shared a video on YouTube that leaked the family's confession regarding Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron's relationship and is suspected to be the cause of the actress's death on February 16, 2025.
According to claims from Kim Sae-ron's aunt, Kim Soo-hyun dated Kim Sae-ron for six years since the late actress was a minor and had been together since the beginning of the Gold Medalist agency.
However, when Kim Sae-ron's drunk driving (DUI) controversy emerged in May 2022, Kim Soo-hyun changed his mind and sued Kim Sae-ron for damages. Kim Sae-ron's aunt claims Gold Medalist tried to get her niece to pay a fine of 20 billion won. However, the agency's request for compensation was later changed to 700 million won.
