Ex- NCT's Taeil is still a suspect in a sexual crime case. However, the idol doesn't seem to care too much about his problems. The reason is, Taeil was recently allegedly caught drunk with his friends.

A netizen claimed to have seen Taeil drinking with his friends. The netizen also uploaded a photo that allegedly shows Taeil's face at a drinking place with his acquaintances. Although the photo is blurry, Taeil appears to be smiling.

"I saw Moon Taeil earlier LOL. Looks like he was drunk, with his first trial just around the corner  LOL," the netizen alleged that one of Taeil's friends asked them not to take photos, citing the idol's current "difficult situation."

"My friend took this photo because they happened to meet him while eating, and the person next to him ridiculously said that he was going through a hard time, and asked them not to take the photo," the netizen added.

Despite this, the post quickly went viral, garnering over 1 million views. Netizens were divided over the post, with some criticizing Taeil’s behavior as inappropriate and insensitive ahead of his upcoming trial. Others defended his right to live his life until the verdict is delivered.

On the other hand, Taeil debuted as a member of NCT in 2016 and was active in the sub-units NCT 127 and NCT U. However, Taeil was reported to the police by the victim on June 13, 2024, and was immediately charged.

The police began investigating and made the first summons for Taeil on August 28, 2024, which shocked the public. Taeil's case was eventually forwarded to the prosecutor's office without being detained.

The Seoul Bangbae Police Station, which led the investigation at the time, had requested arrest warrants for the three perpetrators including Taeil in June 2024, but the court rejected the request, citing that the suspects had confessed to their crimes.

Due to this case, Taeil was forced to leave NCT. On October 15, 2024, SM Entertainment stated that his exclusive contract would end immediately on that day. Now, Taeil must also be ready to face the first trial for his sexual crime case.

According to recent reports from local media, the Seoul Central District Court's 26th Criminal Division (Division D) will hold the first trial for Taeil and two others on Monday May 12, 2025.

Previously, on February 28, 2025, the Women's and Children's Criminal Investigation Division 1 of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office had indicted the three without detention on the same charges.
