NewJeans is in the spotlight again regarding their new group name. After last February spilling the name NJZ, now the name is no longer used by Minji and friends. On April 4, 2025, NewJeans was caught changing the username of the group's Instagram account.
Previously using the name NJZ, the username of the NewJeans account has now been changed to @mhdhh_friends. The names of the members, namely Minji, Hanni , Danielle , Haerin and Hyein, became the inspiration for the username mhdhh_friends.
Along with the username change, NewJeans also deleted all posts on their social media accounts. Unfortunately, the reason behind NewJeans' action is unknown. What is certain is that the parents of the members also changed their accounts to mhdhh_pr.
In the upload of the NewJeans parents' account, important information about the group's condition was revealed. "Hi, we are the parents of the members. The reports from some media outlets claiming that there is a division between the members' parents are not true. We have made a statement to correct this misunderstanding," the parents of the members said.
"The five members have agreed not to return to HYBE and the decision was made after discussions with their family members. From the beginning, the members promised that they would not pursue legal action unless all five members agreed.This shows their trust and unity.
Even now, the members are standing firm on their decision, and we, as their parents, fully respect and support their choice," the parents of the members said. Not only that, parents also expressed their opinions about the rumors related to Haerin. The parents emphasized that the issue surrounding the member was not true.
“Initially, we felt that these rumors were not worth responding to. However, since the names of certain members have now been mentioned, we have decided to clarify our position. The rumors regarding Haerin are completely false. Haerin and her parents are completely in agreement in their stance, and any speculation about their family issues is also untrue,” the parents said.
“Due to these baseless and one-sided speculations, the NewJeans members and their families are experiencing extreme emotional distress. The process of adjusting parental authority to respect the wishes of a minor is a matter that concerns the other members.

This is due to the prohibition of working while the exclusive contract with HYBE is still in dispute.
