Eight years ago, Kim Kardashian left Paris traumatized by her jewelry robbery. Now, she’s back with a new, much bigger ring. Kim wore it right into the courtroom where she testified in her Paris robbery case.

In her official appearance at the Paris Court, France, on Tuesday May 13, 2025, Kim appeared glamorous in a John Galliano blazer dress, Alaia glasses and high heels from Saint Laurent.

However, what stole the most attention was the 22-carat diamond ring on her finger, even bigger than the 20-carat ring stolen at the Hôtel de Pourtalès, Paris in 2016. The diamond was designed by Lorraine Schwartz, a celebrity jewelry designer who also created Kim's previous engagement ring.

According to sources, the ring was purchased with money from an insurance claim after a robbery incident. Kim was also seen wearing a $3 million diamond necklace from Samer Halimeh New York.

In addition to the bling bling necklace and ring, Kim also added a pair of earrings worth $8,100. As quoted from Page Six, Kim's luxurious appearance at her robbery trial was not just a fashion statement.

The reality star used her jewelry as a symbol of strength in front of the defendants who robbed and held her captive at the time. The 20-carat diamond ring stolen in 2016 was a gift from Kim's ex-husband, Kanye West, as an upgrade from their original engagement ring.

Kanye originally proposed to Kim with a 15-carat ring, also designed by Schwartz. "Kanye's first engagement ring was a cushion cut, and it was the only piece of jewelry I didn't bring to Paris," Kim revealed on her reality show The Kardashians.

At that time, Kanye had warned Kim that her appearance with her jewelry was too flashy, which could trigger a robbery. "Kanye saw me wearing two rings and said, 'Are you trying to get robbed? Don't ever wear them together,'" Kim recalled.

Ten people, including the mastermind Yunis Abbas, now in his 70s, have been charged with the robbery. The crime was one of the most high-profile celebrity crimes in the last decade, with the total value of the stolen jewelry reaching US$10 million.
