ASTRO's JinJin has been exempted from mandatory military service due to health issues. Fantagio, ASTRO's agency, announced on Monday June 2, 2025 via a fan forum that JinJin was granted an exemption after a medical examination by the Military Manpower Administration due to health reasons related to his autoimmune disease.
"JinJin has been deemed unfit for military service after a detailed medical examination by the Military Manpower Administration due to health issues related to an autoimmune condition," Fantagio said on Monday June 2, 2025.
Fantagio added that although his condition does not interfere with his daily life, JinJin requires regular visits to the hospital for ongoing check-ups and treatment. "Based on the medical opinion that it would be difficult for him to perform military service in such a state, he has been granted an exemption from military service," he added.
Furthermore, Fantagio is committed to putting its artists' health as its top priority and will continue to support JinJin's activities while taking this into consideration. The agency also thanked all fans and asked for support for JinJin's future endeavors.
