ASTRO’s JinJin was exempted from the military. On June 2, 2025, the agency Fantagio said on the official fan cafe of Astro, "Jinjin was judged to be difficult to serve in the military after a detailed physical examination by the Military Manpower Administration due to health problems related to autoimmune diseases."

"It does not interfere with daily life, but it requires regular visits to hospitals for inspection and management, so I was exempted from military service based on the medical judgment that special group life such as military service is unreasonable," he explained.

"We plan to continue our activities by considering JinJin's health as the top priority," he said. "We deeply appreciate the fans who always support us, and we ask for your continued interest in JinJin's activities."

JinJin, born in 1996, is Astro's leader and main rapper and has participated in "Show Me the Money 5" in the past. Recently, he has expanded his career into a musical actor. The cast includes "Dream High," "Winter Traveler," and "Crash Landing on You." ASTRO, which JinJin belongs to, debuted in 2016.

Cha Eun-woo, Yoon San-ha, and MJ belong to the team. Cha Eun Woo's agency released an official statement and confirmed his choice to join the military band. The Korean drama star True Beauty is scheduled to depart and begin his duties on July 28, 2025.
