South Korean actor Song Young Kyu has been revealed to be undergoing questioning after being found guilty of drunk driving. The questioning took place at the Yonggi Dongbu Police Station before moving to the Suwon Prosecutor's Office.
Song Young Kyu is suspected of driving 5 km while drunk at 11:00 PM South Korean time on June 19, 2025. He was driving from Giheung to Cheoin in Yongin. Police began investigating after a witness reported, “It looked like someone was driving drunk.”
Korean Police later identified the vehicle Song Young Kyu was driving. Upon investigation, the actor's blood alcohol content was 0.08%, leading to the confiscation of his driver's license.
Investigations revealed that Song Young Kyu had been drinking with his friends in the Giheung area before returning home and driving his own vehicle. Neither Song Young Kyu nor his agency have responded to this news.
Song Young Kyu is a senior actor who was active in musicals before expanding his wings to the television industry. Amidst this news, two of Song Young Kyu's dramas are currently airing on television.
First, there's " Eye Shopping," in which he plays priest Yoon Se Hoon. He also stars in the drama Try: We Become Miracles as Kim Min Joong's trainer. This news broke the same day the drama's first episode aired.
