IU and Byeon Woo Seok are giving fans a glimpse of their on-screen romance with a little bit of a fairytale twist. The two stars graced the cover of ELLE Korea’s April edition, featuring a dreamy wedding-themed shoot inspired by their upcoming MBC drama "Perfect Crown".

The concept captures a sweet, romantic wedding moment between their characters. Following the shoot, both actors opened up about their roles in the series, which is set in a modern-day constitutional monarchy. IU described her character as layered and intriguing.

“Hee Joo is a really interesting character,” she said. “Watching her struggle to build a relationship with Prince Yian is both endearing and a little amusing. What stood out most to me is that she doesn’t hide her desires.” Byeon Woo Seok shared a strong connection to his role as Prince Yian.

“I always focus on a character’s emotions, and Yian’s feelings really resonated with me,” he said. “He’s someone who has high status but can’t have anything, and at the same time just wants to be happy. That complexity felt very compelling.”

The two also spoke about their on-set chemistry, emphasizing the trust they built while working together. “Wooseok brought Prince Yian to life even more beautifully than I imagined when reading the script,” IU said.

“On screen, he was so elegant and striking that ‘beautiful’ was the only word that came to mind. We were honest with each other, even about the parts we struggled with, and that helped us build real trust. He became such a reliable partner.”

Byeon echoed the sentiment, adding, “We had a lot of serious conversations about acting, but we also joked around a lot on set (laughs). IU is incredibly detailed in how she approaches a character and the script—I learned a lot from her.

She’s also very down-to-earth and honest, which made the set feel comfortable.” Although their marriage began as a contract, Sung Hee joo and Prince Yian hold hands and march together toward their goals.

Reflecting on the story, Byeon said, “To be on the same side means having someone who can clearly tell you when something isn’t right—and if your thoughts align, it becomes a relationship where you can trust each other endlessly.”

IU added, “Hee Joo and Yian clearly need each other and are willing to support one another. Watching them move forward, both together and on their own paths, will bring a lot of different kinds of enjoyment.” Perfect Crown premieres April 10, 2026.
