Ahn Hyo Seop set foot at the 2026 Oscars . He was invited to come to the Dolby Theatre, Los Angeles, on Sunday (March 15, 2026) as part of the K-Pop film Demon Hunters . The actor, who starred in the Korean drama Business Proposal, voices Jinu, the demon leader of the fictional boy band Saja Boys.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Ahn Hyo Seop said he couldn't believe he was attending the world's most prestigious film awards ceremony. "This shouldn't be happening right now. I mean, I can't believe I'm at the Oscars, watching all these stars and celebrities.

I'm just taking it all in and having a great time," Ahn Hyo Seop said in an Entertainment Tonight YouTube video seen Monday (March 16, 2026). The actor, born on April 17, 1995, arrived in a tuxedo and with a neat hairstyle.

He looked cheerful during the interview with May Hong (voice of Mira) and Yoo Ji Young (voice of Zoey). When asked who he most wanted to meet during the Oscars, Ahn Hyo Seop gave a frank answer.

"I want to meet the directors," he said with a broad smile. His answer immediately drew laughter from his colleagues. K-Pop hit Demon Hunters won big at the 2026 Oscars. The Netflix film was nominated in two categories: Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song for the song "Golden."

It won in both categories. "I feel proud of Korean films and films about Korea. Honestly, I don't want to let Korea down," said Maggie Kang in the Oscar press room after the announcement of the winners.

Maggie Kang also feels that K-Pop's Demon Hunters Oscar win completes Korean cinema's achievements at the Academy Awards, especially after Bong Joon Ho's win for Parasite in 2020. Six years ago, Parasite took home six awards, including Best Picture and Best Director for Bong Joon Ho.

Now, Maggie Kang is the first Korean Oscar winner in the animation industry. "One of the most emotional moments for me as a filmmaker was watching director Bong Joon Ho win for Parasite.

The fact that K-Pop Demon Hunters won Best Animated Feature, showcasing Korean culture, felt like a perfect complement to the trophies in both categories," Maggie continued. EJAE, representing Golden's songwriters and producers, delivered her acceptance speech.

After a brief absence from the microphone at the Grammys, the spotlight returned to the singer-songwriter. In his speech, EJAE briefly touched on his past, when he was the butt of jokes because he liked K-Pop. Now, he's proving that K-Pop is a music genre that everyone can enjoy.
