Mark Lee officially announced his departure from NCT. He also ended his contract with his agency, SM Entertainment. The news was shared directly by SM through a post on social media today, Friday, April 3, 2026.
The agency said this decision had been carefully considered by both parties. In writing, Mark's exclusive contract with SM Entertainment will end on April 8, 2026. His journey of almost 10 years with NCT will soon come to an end.
With Mark's departure, NCT-127 will be strengthened by seven members. Meanwhile, the other sub-unit, NCT Dream, leaves six personnel. A farewell letter was written by Mark as a thank you to his groupmates, agencies and fans.
He was grateful to have many memorable moments and experiences over the past decade including his trainee days. "You make me want to be a better person, and I hope the decisions in my life can have a positive impact on everyone," Mark wrote in a handwritten message.
Mark revealed that he had discussed with the members, so that fans could see this farewell going well. It is still unknown what Mark's plans are in the future and in which agency he joined, fans still faithfully provide support.
