As reported by Netflix Tudum, Squid Game 3 is the end of the brutal game. That means Squid Game will not be returning for Season 4. Squid Game director Hwang Dong Hyuk confirmed this through a letter to fans in July 2024.
In the letter, he announced that Season 3 will be the final season of Squid Game and will air in 2025. "I'm so excited to see the ideas planted to create a new Squid Game grow and bear fruit at the end of this story," he wrote at the time.
Hwang Dong Hyuk also tried to present the Squid Game ending meaningfully through the story of the game participants. Seeing his journey, he is proud of this series. "Creating 22 episodes was a tough journey, so I had mixed feelings after it was over," he concluded.
