WOODZ officially completed his mandatory military service on July 21, 2025. He immediately announced his comeback afterward! The man, whose real name is Cho Seung Youn, was discharged from his mandatory military service after 18 months of service.
He underwent five weeks of training at the Nonsan Army Training Center in Chungnam on January 22, 2024. He was then assigned to the military band at the Korea Military Academy. WOODZ was greeted by fans upon his official discharge yesterday.
He thanked them for their loyalty and boasted that he couldn't wait to eat grilled pork belly, also known as samgyeopsal. He received flowers and a pink ribbon. His face looked fresh and cheerful, welcoming her freedom.
Then, on Tuesday July 22, 2025 at midnight, WOODZ released a teaser video titled "OUT OF TIME ARTIFACTS" on his official YouTube channel. The 13-second teaser immediately heightened fans' anticipation for WOODZ's new work. There's a vocal cut from the soloist with his signature rock voice.
Rock band-style music also plays in the background as WOODZ shouts "Keep on running!" followed by a visual of a concrete wall being destroyed, revealing the W logo. Other than that, there are no details about this comeback.
EDAM Entertainment seems to be keeping things under wraps to ensure the surprise remains. WOODZ last released a single titled AMNESIA in 2023. In the same year he also released an EP (mini album) titled OO-LI whose main song, Drowning, is currently still at the top of the Melon Top 100 chart.
