Shortly after WAKEONE's official statement was released, Kim Geonwoo also uploaded a handwritten letter of apology via the Plus Chat platform. In the letter, he expressed deep regret for the actions that had sparked public disappointment.
Kim Geonwoo specifically apologized to the fans who have always supported him, his ALPHA DRIVE ONE bandmates, and all the staff who have worked hard on the field. He acknowledged that his immature behavior has caused disappointment to many.
"I would like to sincerely apologize to those who were hurt by this incident. I did not take the affection I received since my debut for granted. I am deeply sorry and disappointed in myself for displaying behavior that contradicted my determination to repay the fans' support," Kim Geonwoo wrote in the letter.
Kim Geonwoo further revealed that this incident had been a harsh wake-up call for him, recognizing his lack of understanding and maturity as a person. He promised to use his break for in-depth self-reflection.
"Through this incident, I truly realize how foolish my actions were and how many shortcomings I have. Going forward, I will act responsibly and conduct deep introspection to prevent a similar incident from happening again," he said.
At the end of his letter, he emphasized his intention to use the break to reflect on his identity. Kim Geonwoo promised to do his utmost to return with a more mature and experienced personality in the future.
