South Korean singer and variety show star, Kim Jong Kook, announced the happy news about his wedding plans through a handwritten letter uploaded on his official fan cafe this morning, August 18, 2025.

In his letter, Kim Jong Kook wrote, "I'm getting married." He acknowledged that the news might seem sudden to some fans, although he had hinted at it beforehand. "I know it's a bit late, but isn't it fortunate to have reached this point? I will try to live well," he said.

He also mentioned that in this year marking the 30th anniversary of his debut, he did not release a new album as he had wanted, but instead found a "soulmate" to start a new chapter in his life. Kim Jong Kook plans to hold a simple wedding soon, attended only by family, relatives, and a few close friends.

"Thanks to the incredible support from fans all this time, I've been able to get to this point, get married, and face new challenges in life. I will continue to strive to become a better Kim Jong Kook," he added, expressing his gratitude to the fans who have supported him over the years.

Previously, speculation about Kim Jong Kook's marriage began to emerge last April 2025 after he was revealed to have purchased a luxury villa in the upscale Gangnam area of Seoul for 62 billion won in cash. On the KBS 2TV show "Problem Child in House," he mentioned that the house would be his future home for his married life.

When asked by host Kim Sook about his future bride, Kim Jong Kook jokingly replied, "It's not about whether there is someone or not, but if I get married, of course there will be a bride." Kim Jong Kook debuted in September 1995 as a member of the group Turbo.

Since 2001, he has been active as a solo singer and has gained immense popularity through various variety shows such as 'Running Man' and 'My Little Old Boy'. His career in the entertainment industry has made him a beloved public figure in South Korea.
