Park Ji Hyun will not be reprising her role in Season 2 of SBS’s hit drama Flex X Cop. On Wednesday August 13, 2025, a production insider confirmed that the South Korean actress has decided not to return for the second season of the action-comedy series.
Casting for a new female lead is already underway, though no replacement has been finalized. Filming is expected to begin early next year once casting is complete.
Premiering in January 2024, Flex X Cop followed a spoiled chaebol heir who becomes a homicide detective, using wealth and influence as his unconventional tools of the trade. The series was a ratings success, peaking at 11% nationwide.
In the first season, Park Ji Hyun played Lee Kang Hyun, the fierce and principled leader of Kangha Police Station’s Violent Crimes Unit 1, partnering up with Ahn Bo Hyun.
A veteran detective with unwavering pride in her work, she won praise for her empathetic yet relentless pursuit of justice. Instead of returning to Flex X Cop, Park Ji Hyun will take on a new role in tvN’s upcoming office romance drama Back to Work (literal title).
