A new name is confirmed to be out of SM Entertainment. Lucas, a solo singer and former NCT member, has ended his exclusive contract with the agency. Friday, April 24, 2026, SM Entertainment released a statement that Lucas completed his exclusive contract and did not continue. Therefore, he officially left the agency today.
"We are here to inform you that the exclusive contract with Lucas ends on April 24, 2026," SM Entertainment said. "We will always remember the moments we shared together, from the trainee days to the various activities that Lucas went through after he debuted, and continue to support him as he embarks on this new chapter," he said.
The agency concluded, "We ask that you support Lucas' new journey with support. Thank you." Lucas debuted with the group NCT in 2018. He was also active in several variety shows and debuted as a model to walk in South Korea's fashion shows. In the same year, Lucas entered the WayV unit, which is a group based in China.
They debuted in 2019 with a single album. In 2021, Lucas and WayV were about to promote but failed due to the controversy regarding his attitude in his past relationship. As a result, the agency canceled the release of the single Jalapeno which Lucas would sing with Hendery.
Two years later, the agency announced that Lucas had left NCT and WayV but did not leave the company. Then, Lucas focused on solo activities. Lucas debuted as a solo singer in 2024 with the album Renegade and went on a fan-con tour in several countries including Indonesia.
