South Korean actress Park Ji Hyun, who played Lee Kang Hyun in the first season, will not be returning for Flex X Cop Season 2. In fact, her chemistry with Ahn Bo Hyun in this latest action drama has made many viewers emotional and amazed.

This decision has sparked curiosity: who will replace her and fill the void left by her character in the new season? Reported by Soompi, on Wednesday August 13, 2025, Park Ji Hyun was confirmed not to be appearing in the latest SBS drama Flex X Cop Season 2.

The actress' agency, Namoo Actors, said Park Ji Hyun had difficulty finding a suitable schedule. "Park Ji Hyun can't participate in Flex X Cop Season 2 due to conflicting schedules," agency said. Flex X Cop first aired in January 2024. The story is about Jin Lee Soo, a spoiled chaebol heir who suddenly becomes a homicide detective.

He uses his wealth and connections to solve cases in unique ways. This action drama was a huge success, even reaching 11 percent national ratings. Its engaging storyline, coupled with the chemistry between Ahn Bo Hyun and Park Ji Hyun, captivated fans even more.

In the first season, Park Ji Hyun played Lee Kang Hyun, the head of Violent Crimes Unit 1 at Kangha Police Station who was strict, had strong principles, and became Ahn Bo Hyun's partner. Her character is known as a veteran detective who is uncompromising, yet still possesses an empathetic side that captivates viewers.

The production team is currently busy searching for a new female lead, but none has been confirmed yet. Meanwhile, Flex X Cop Season 2 was also confirmed for another season last June, like another SBS drama, Good Partner. Filming is scheduled to begin early next year after casting is complete.

Even though she didn't make a comeback in Flex X Cop Season 2 , Park Ji Hyun was confirmed to star in tvN's newest office romance drama, Back to Work, with Seo In Guk. She will also appear in the latest Netflix drama  You and Everything Else with Kim Go Eun in September 2025.
