Six months after his tearful press conference addressing the scandal involving the late South Korean actress Kim Sae Ron, new updates have emerged about actor Kim Soo Hyun‘s current well-being and his ongoing legal battle.
Former entertainment reporter-turned-YouTuber Lee Jin Ho shared on September 30, 2025 in his YouTube video that Kim Soo Hyun has been “under extreme stress” and has been hiking alone to help recover his mental state.
A photo from Kim Soo Hyun’s hike was also shared as part of this update. On the same day, Kim’s lawyer released excerpts from diary entries and letters the actor wrote to his girlfriend during his military service from 2016 to 2019.
According to the lawyer, these letters were provided to authorities without alteration and are considered crucial evidence to help restore the actor’s reputation. The updates come as Kim Soo Hyun continues to fight allegations of having been in a relationship with the late Kim Sae Ron while she was a minor.
His team has denied any involvement with her during her underage years and is pursuing legal action, claiming that audio recordings presented as evidence by the bereaved family were generated using AI.
