Veteran South Korean actor Lee Moon Soo passed away on Saturday (November 29, 2025), leaving fans of the performing arts and cinema deeply saddened. As reported by SportChosun, on Sunday November 30, 2025, Lee Moon Soo passed away at the age of 76. 

This news was confirmed directly by the Korean Theatre Actors Association, which said the actor breathed his last at a hospital in Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do. Previously, the actor was known to have been battling lung cancer since 2022 and underwent intensive treatment.

Lee Moon Soo wasn't someone who jumped straight into the arts world. He initially worked as a government employee before deciding to pursue his passion by studying at Seoul National University of the Arts. That decision became a turning point in his life. 

After graduating, Lee Moon Soo entered the theater and spent decades as an actor at the National Theater of Korea. The series of works he has starred in shows his class as a top theater actor, starting from Problematic Human Computation, Trial, Death of a Salesman, 1984, Seagull, to King Lear.

He is known as an actor with strong emotional depth, high stage discipline, and character transformation abilities that always amaze the audience. Although not as famous as K-drama actors who often appear on the small screen, Lee Moon Soo is a legend in the Korean theater industry.
