Park Eun Bin and Yang Se Jong have officially been cast as the leads in the upcoming tvN drama 'Spellbound,' a remake of the legendary 2011 cult film of the same name. The occult-romance drama is slated to premiere in 2026.
Directed by Lee Min Soo and written by Choi Jung Mi, 'Spellbound' tells the story of an unusual romance between a hotel conglomerate heiress who can see ghosts and a passionate prosecutor who only believes in facts and scientific evidence.
Park Eun Bin transforms into Cheon Yeo Ri, a perfect woman with beauty, wealth, and extraordinary abilities. But behind her luxurious life, she hides a terrifying secret: she can see and speak with wandering spirits.
Meanwhile, Yang Se Jong will play Ma Kang Wook, an elite prosecutor with a flawless physique, sharp wit, and an unwavering sense of justice. This hot-headed prosecutor character provides an opportunity for Yang Se Jong to showcase his latest acting transformation after a long hiatus from the small screen.
A “chance-like” meeting between Yeo Ri and Kang Wook leads them to work together on mysterious, supernatural cases. The chemistry between a woman who is “not afraid of ghosts” and a man who initially rejects all things irrational is predicted to bring laughter, horror, and heart palpitations all at once.
The production team stated, “‘Spellbound’ is a romance story about a woman who can see ghosts but isn’t afraid of them at all, and a man who, because of her, is forced to confront a world he’s denied. The combination of Yeo Ri’s mystical abilities and Kang Wook’s instinct for scientific inquiry will deliver a thrilling sense of satisfaction.”
