The South Korean entertainment world has been rocked by news of two comedians at the end of this year. After Park Na Rae was accused of bullying her former manager, Cho Sae Ho is now suspected of being involved in mafia activities.
As reported by the Korea JoongAng Daily on Tuesday (December 9, 2025), a social media user, known as X, made a post criticizing the comedian, claiming that Cho Sae Ho was close to someone named Mr. Choi.
Mr. Choi is no ordinary person. He is suspected of being a member of a local criminal organization. X claims that Cho Sae Ho has a personal relationship with Mr. Choi. X proves this with a series of photos showing their closeness.
The photo shows Cho Sae Ho and Mr. Choi embracing after meeting at a nightclub. X also mentioned that the two frequently send each other expensive gifts. In South Korea, giving someone a gift is considered a sign of respect.
It's often done by seniors in the entertainment industry to juniors, and vice versa. X's post stated that Cho Sae Ho not only received expensive gifts from Mr. Choi, but also frequently received money.
This claim was immediately denied by the agency of the comedian who appeared in the Korean drama My Love From The Star. "This is just speculation from X and we confirm this is not true," A2Z Entertainment said in a statement.
X's speculation and the agency's statement regarding Cho Sae Ho have caused a public uproar. The comedian's popularity is currently high thanks to his starring roles on shows like You Quiz on the Block with Yoo Jae Suk and 2 Days & 1 Night.
Based on X's accusations, management will take legal action. At the end of the circulating mafia rumors, the 43 year old comedian decided to withdraw from the two events.
"He feels responsible for the misunderstanding and controversy that arose. We also reiterate that the claim that he received money or valuables from Mr. Choi for the purpose of promoting the business is absolutely false," the agency emphasized again.
Cho Sae Ho debuted as a comedian in 2001 and has been a regular cast member on several popular variety shows. Recently, his most-watched show has been You Quiz on the Block, which frequently interviews popular artists from both Indonesia and abroad.
