Jo Jin Woong announced his retirement from the entertainment industry that made him famous. This came after his past was revealed to the public. On December 5, 2025, Dispatch revealed that Jo Jin Woong had been involved in several crimes during his teenage years, ranging from car theft to assault at school.
He underwent a program in lieu of punishment, as the crimes were committed while he was still a minor. He was also accused of assault and drunk driving as an adult. Jo Jin Woong, also known as "Jo Jin Woong," is not his real name and is suspected of choosing a different name to cover up his criminal record.
The agency, SARAM Entertainment, apologized for the case, but they denied any allegations of sexual violence as reported. Moments later, Jo Jin Woong released a statement through his agency stating that he was retiring from the film industry.
