Actor Vin Diesel was acquitted of the sexual harassment case reported by his assistant, Asta Jonasson, in 2023. The verdict was made on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 in Georgia. Vin Diesel was accused of sexually assaulting his assistant in California in 2010.

However, he was acquitted of the case because California law does not apply in Georgia. Diesel's assistant, Asta Jonasson, sued Diesel in Los Angeles Superior Court in 2023 over an incident that occurred in 2010.

In her report, Asta said Diesel pushed her against a wall and masturbated while in Atlanta while filming Fast Five , the fifth film in the Fast & Furious franchise. She also said Diesel took her to a hotel room and forced her onto a bed.

Asta protested and tried to get out, but Diesel pushed her against the wall and tried to pull down her pants. A few hours later, Vin Diesel's brother arrived and fired her, even though Asta Jonasson had only worked for Diesel for nine days.

According to Variety, Judge Daniel M. Crowley dismissed four of Asta Jonasson's 10 claims on statute of limitations. The other six claims were dismissed Wednesday for lack of jurisdiction. “It is undisputed that the alleged sexual assault occurred in Atlanta, Georgia,” the judge wrote.

Asta Jonasson's party plans to appeal the verdict because they feel it does not reveal the truth behind the case. "The court has not ruled on Jonasson's innocence. The verdict was based on legal technicalities, with which we respectfully disagree.

Jonasson intends to appeal," said lawyer Asta Jonasson. In contrast, Vin Diesel's attorney , Bryan Freedman, said, "We are grateful that the court has dismissed this baseless lawsuit. We are grateful that this matter has been fully resolved."
