Veteran actor Kim Nam Gil and talented actress Lee Yoo Mi have been officially confirmed to be acting together in the new SBS drama 'Nightmare' (literal title), which is scheduled to premiere in 2027.

This drama has a unique premise about a group of vigilantes who punish criminals, who are beyond the reach of real-world law, by trapping them in nightmares. Set in a world that blurs the lines between dreams and reality, this series promises a new way of enforcing justice.

Kim Nam Gil plays Kim Tae Yi, a detective who has just returned from a long undercover assignment. He returns home a completely different person; his personality, speech, and even lifestyle have drastically changed, but his determination to hunt down evil remains unwavering.

With sharp instincts, he teams up with the nightmare creators to hunt down the criminal. Lee Yoo Mi plays Jang Gyu Eun, a police officer in the Southern District who focuses on helping victims. In real life, she is timid and fearful.

However, in her dreams, she transforms into the brutal "Nightmare Designer," entering the dreams of criminals and inflicting excruciating pain on them. Instead of throwing the perpetrators into physical prison, the duo Kim Tae Yi and Jang Gyu Eun will trap the criminals into a "dream hell" that they cannot escape from until death comes.

A production representative stated, "By punishing real-world criminals through nightmares, we aim to provide a sense of catharsis for the audience. This partnership between a detective and a nightmare designer will offer a new level of immersion."
