Kim Young Dae will enlist in the military at the age of 30. TENAISA reported on (March 25, 2026) that he is scheduled to start his service next month, with an expected discharge in October 2027.
Though other male celebrities born in 1996, like Kim Young Dae, have either completed or announced their enlistment, his was delayed due to waiting on the Ministry of National Defense. He’s mentioned in interviews that he’s always wanted to serve.
In a recent interview after wrapping up TVING’s Dear X in late November 2025, Kim Young Dae shared that he hopes actors Kim Do Hoon and Kim Yoo Jung will visit him during his military service.
He said, “I’m excited to go to the military, return, audition, and live with the same passion I had when I started. I’m not worried about my achievements fading. I see it as a fresh start and am preparing for what comes after I return.”
Kim Young Dae has completed filming all his projects, with Dear X being his last release. There are no upcoming projects during his service, so fans will have to wait until after his discharge to see him again.
