Kim Young Dae is reportedly set to enlist in the military soon. His agency, Outer Universe, told Dispatch on (March 25, 2026) that the actor is scheduled to enter the training center next month to serve as an active-duty soldier in the Army.
Kim Young Dae himself has mentioned his military enlistment plans several times in various interviews. While promoting the drama "Dear X" last year, he revealed his estimated enlistment date.
He also expressed his enthusiasm to return to acting after completing his duties, with the hope of trying new, more challenging roles to expand his abilities in the world of acting.
Making his debut through a web drama in 2017, Kim Young Dae's name continued to soar through popular projects such as 'Extraordinary You' and 'No Gain No Love'.
His latest project, 'Dear X', successfully left a deep impression through his role as Yoon Jun Seo who faithfully accompanies the character Baek A Jin (Kim Yoo Jung).
Apart from that, he also gave a special appearance in the drama 'Monthly Boyfriend'. Kim Young Dae is expected to complete his service and be discharged from the military around September or October 2027.
