Not long after announcing his departure from ENHYPEN , Heeseung has now entered a new era as an artist. He's changed his name to EVAN. Belift Lab officially announced Heeseung's new identity in a statement received by detikcom on Thursday (April 9, 2026).
Management released EVAN's first photos. "A new visual that captures the unfiltered and authentic side of yourself," wrote Belift Lab. In the photo, EVAN looks simple in a white T-shirt with rolled-up sleeves. He pairs this look with jeans and a minimalist silver necklace.
EVAN's appearance contrasts with Heeseung's in ENHYPEN, whose comebacks always feature a fantasy narrative. As a result, he often appears in full makeup, resembling a different character with each comeback. "This visual is EVAN's most authentic yet," Belift Lab reiterated.
This simple and minimalist concept also symbolizes rebirth. EVAN presents himself as an artist who remains innocent, untouched or uninfluenced by the world around him. This narrative has made fans even more curious about the musical style EVAN will showcase in his solo project.
A new identity, a new story, and, of course, a different musical style than what he usually delivers with ENHYPEN. This difference in musical paths also led Heeseung to decide to leave his previous group. He wanted to explore something new and create a completely different persona.
