His blood alcohol content was 0.122%. On Thursday, April 9, 2026, Judge Yang Eun Sang sentenced Nam Tae Hyun to 1 year in prison and ordered him to pay a fine of 1 million Won. The former WINNER member was said to have driven at speeds reaching 182 km/h while the maximum speed set is 80 km/h.

"At the time of the incident, the risk of a traffic accident was very high, considering that the defendant was driving at 182 km/h on Gangbyeonbuk-ro, and his vehicle skidded into the fourth lane, and hit the guardrail outside the fourth lane, so a heavy penalty is appropriate," the authorities explained, as reported by Chosun Korea.

"Although the defendant is on probation for violating the Narcotics Control Act, this crime has already been committed, making his culpability significant," they said. 

Previously, Nam Tae Hyun was sentenced in January 2024 to one year for being proven to have purchased and used crystal methamphetamine. In the previous year, the South Club member was also arrested for DUI in the Gangnam area of ​​Seoul.
