South Korean actor, Lee Jae Wook officially enlisted in the military today (May 18, 2026) to begin his mandatory service. He will serve as an active-duty soldier in the Republic of Korea Army after completing basic training at the recruit education center. No special public events were held to mark his enlistment. 

Lee shared several photos of his new buzz cut on social media on the day before his enlistment with a brief message to his fans, promising to stay healthy and return safely. While he will be stepping away from the spotlight for his service, fans won’t have to wait long to see him on screen. 

Lee wrapped up filming for multiple projects before his enlistment, ensuring no gap in his promotions. His upcoming ENA drama, Doctor on the Edge, is scheduled to premiere on June 1st, and his Netflix series, Dead-End Job, is set for release later this year.

Born in 1998, Lee Jae Wook made his acting debut in the 2018 tvN drama Memories of the Alhambra. He quickly established himself as a rising star through his roles in popular series such as Search: WWW, Extraordinary You, Alchemy of Souls and Last Summer.
