South Korean actor Lee Jae Wook is reportedly set to fulfill his civic duty by enlisting in the military soon. This news has been confirmed directly by his agency, Log Studio. According to Soompi, Lee Jae Wook is scheduled to begin his active duty on May 18, 2026.

Before officially serving, he will first enter the basic military training center to undergo physical and discipline training. The decision to leave this year was taken because the military service postponement period for the actor born on May 10, 1998 had reached its maximum limit.

Even though it was delayed due to a busy filming schedule, Lee Jae Wook chose to complete all his work before entering a temporary hiatus. Lee Jae Wook made his debut in 2018 with the drama Memories of the Alhambra and has continued to rise to fame with various iconic roles. Some of his major achievements include:

Won the Best New Actor award at the 2019 MBC Drama Awards for the drama Extraordinary You. Won the Rookie of the Year category at the 2020 Asia Artist Awards. Building a global reputation through popular dramas such as Search: WWW, Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol, and the fantasy series Alchemy of Souls.

Fans don't have to feel completely lost during this "military gap." Lee Jae Wook has completed several pre-production projects to accompany viewers during his time in office, including the drama "Doctor on the Edge," which premieres on June 1. He plays a doctor on a remote island.

Then there's Dead-End Job, a Netflix original series in the horror mystery genre that will showcase another side of his acting beyond the romance genre. In his official statement, the actor expressed his desire to return as a stronger and more mature person after completing his duties.

To respect the sanctity of state duties, the registration process will be conducted behind closed doors without any special events for fans or the media. With a solid track record and diverse portfolio, Lee Jae Wook is predicted to return to the entertainment industry with a much bigger career in the future.
