Yu Junwon, known as a member of pre-debut FANTASY BOYS, has just joined a new agency, CONTI Inc, amidst an ongoing legal battle with his old agency, Phunky Studio. On June 5, 2026, his new agency released an official statement regarding the ongoing lawsuit between Yu Junwon and Phunky Studio.
In its statement, CONTI Inc. emphasized that the lawsuit should not derail Yu Junwon's career. The agency explained that Yu Junwon has spent the past three years focusing on this lawsuit without signing a contract with or negotiating with any other agency.
"Yu Junwon is currently involved in a lawsuit against Phunky Studio," the agency stated. The statement further explained a dispute between Yu Junwon and Phunky Studio over an exclusive contract that was supposed to stipulate a reduction in fixed labor costs for 17 people for five years.
Despite the lack of a signed contract, Phunky Studio still filed a lawsuit for damages. "A lawsuit for damages is merely a procedure for recovering financial losses and cannot be used to prohibit an artist's activities," CONTI Inc. asserted.
Yu Junwon's new agency also questioned Phunky Studio's claim that the young artist should cease all activities. "We cannot understand the claim that he should cease all activities simply because a damage lawsuit is ongoing," the agency added.
Yu Junwon deeply regrets the exhaustion caused by this prolonged legal dispute and hopes to resume his career. "We ask for your warm support so that Yu Junwon can protect his rights and do his best as he begins his new activities," concluded the statement from CONTI Inc.
Previously, Phunky Studio filed a lawsuit for damages worth ₩3 billion KRW, claiming that Yu Junwon had neglected his obligations to promote himself as a member of the debut group of MBC's Fantasy Boys: My Teenage Boy Season 2 and left the dorm without permission.
Amidst the ongoing lawsuit, Yu Junwon announced that he had signed an exclusive contract with his new agency. In response, Phunky Studio stated that the decision to join a new agency and continue related activities before a final decision was made was a serious violation of industry ethics, and announced plans to take strong legal action.
