OnePlus is all set to launch its new mid-range device, called the Nord CE 2 5G, in India on February 17. Now, the Chinese tech company has confirmed on its Twitter handle that the smartphone will come fitted with a MediaTek Dimensity 900 processor. The handset is also said to feature a 6.43-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display, a triple rear camera unit, and will boot Android 12 OS.
The OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G will arrive as an upgrade to the current Nord CE 5G model. The smartphone will be the latest addition to the company's Nord line-up offering premium features at a sub Rs. 30,000 price-tag. It will be pitted against other similar mid-segment smartphones from brands like Samsung, Xiaomi, Realme, and Vivo.
The OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G may bear a 6.43-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display, with a 90Hz refresh rate and an aspect ratio of 20:9. The smartphone is expected to feature a punch-hole cut-out design with rounded corners, slim bezels, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. The rear will be fitted with a triple camera module.
Under the hood, the OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 900 processor, paired with 6GB/8GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage. On the front software, it will boot Android 12-based OxygenOS 12 out of the box. For connectivity, the device should offer support for dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, GPS, and 5G.
As far as the cameras are concerned, the OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G is rumored to sport a triple rear camera unit comprising a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP depth lens. For selfies and video calls, a 16MP front-facing camera is expected. The smartphone will is said to pack a 4,500mAh battery with 65W fast-charging support.
The official pricing and availability details of the OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G will be announced by the company at the time of its launch, which will happen on February 17. However, based on the specifications, the handset may carry a starting price-tag of Rs. 25,000. The handset may be available in Black and Green colors.
